To enjoy communications by email, it is important to:
1) Allow 48 hours for the receiver to respond to the sender. If you have not received a response, follow up with another email, written note or telephone call.
2) Never assume the intent of an email. If you are not sure -- ask so as to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings.
3) Always acknowledge emails, it lets the sender know you have received it and it is not lost. You can write “I received your email and I will respond later”. Leaving an email unanswered could lead to all kinds of false interpretations. (This doesn’t apply to weekly information emails).
4) Email before noon if the message is for the same day and call if you received no response.
5) Please let the sender know if you prefer communicating by notes, telephone or by appointments.
